Hon. Emilola-Gazal addressing his Guests

The authorities of Ijebu Ode Local Government in Ogun State, has stated her plans of raising the bar of primary health care services in the council area.

The Executive Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Babatunde Emilola-Gazal stated this while hosting the Chairman, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Olubukunola Onabanjo and Members of the commission, who paid him a courtesy visit in his Itoro, Ijebu Ode office, on Monday.

In a Press Statement sighed by Olukayode Ibikunle Information Officer, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Emilola-Gazal who was full of praises for the local government employees for their diligence disclosed his plans to launch an awareness campaign in order to draw people’s attention to the good services being rendered at the various health facilities of the local government.

The Chairman said he was a living testimony of the professional expertise of the healthcare service providers, having enjoyed such people-oriented quality healthcare delivery in one of the health centres in the past.

The Chairman then requested for the posting of a Medical Doctor to replace the immediate-past Medical Officer of Health and Primary Health Care Coordinator, Dr. Adeolu Olufowobi who was recently appointed the Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission, Ogun State.

Emilola-Gazal thanked and commended the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Onagbenga Onayemi, the Director, General Services and Administration, Mr. Oluseye Soyoye; and members of the management team, for their cooperation and support.

The council boss also used the opportunity to intimate his visitors of his administration’s Public-Private-Partnership Initiative which has been yielding results, particularly in the beautification and restoration of the environment.

Responding, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Olubukunola Onabanjo, said the commission had already noted the Chairman’s request, which according to her was a general one, that also applied to other local governments, and that the Commission was considering filling some vacant key establishment positions, to beef up manpower at the various local governments.

On the Chairman’s entourage were Hon. Lukmon Adiro; Otunba Koye Martins Ijaduoye; Dr. Olusesan Fagbayi; and Balogun Olatunde Rufai; Commissioners I-IV, respectively, at the commission; Dr. Adeolu Olufowobi, Permanent Secretary of the Commission; and Mrs. Olubukunola Adeniregun Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Ogun State.
Also on the Chairman’s team were Engr. Babatunde Odunlami, FNSE; Engr. Mohammed Abbass, FNSE, Directors of Appointment, Discipline and Pension; and Promotion, Posting, and Transfer, respectively, at the commission; and Mr. Bosun Onabanjo, Head, Information Unit, at the commission.

In attendance at the meeting were Hon. Dare Alebiosu, Vice Chairman; Alhaji Onagbenga Onayemi Head of Local Government Administration; and Mr. Oluseye Soyoye, Director, General Services and Administration; all of Ijebu Ode Local Government.
