The Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye, has congratulated Hon. Jamiu Ashimi, the newly-elected Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the local government.
Ashimi, who is the immediate past Caretaker Chairman of the party was unanimously returned in the local government congress of the party, held on Saturday, at the St. Saviours Anglican Primary School, Ikenne.
Ogunleye also extended his heartfelt congratulations to Alhaji Kehinde Ogunnubi, Mr. Ademola Kazeem Awoshipe, and Alhaja Fausat Adeyiga, who were also elected as Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Woman Leader, respectively, as well as other elected party officials.
He urged the party executives to justify the confidence reposed in them by working towards sustaining the progressive ethos of the party.
“I congratulate you all on your well-deserved election into the various positions within the party. This is a demonstration of the confidence reposed in you by the entire membership of the party.
I therefore urge you to justify this confidence, by sustaining the progressive ethos of our party, past victories and consolidate the democratic gains recorded”, said the Chairman.
“As I wish you a successful and remarkable tenure, I implore you to regard everyone as members of a one big united family, and uphold the all-inclusive governance approach of our dear Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR”, the Chairman further added.
Hon. Ogunleye commended the Wale OHU-led Congress Committee for the successful conduct of the exercise which he said was held in a very peaceful and orderly manner where the twenty seven-member local government executive was elected with three national delegates also elected for the national convention, holding later in the year.
