ENCOMIUMS POUR AT THE LUNCH OF THE FIRST BOOK BY RETIRING LG OFFICER

Encomiums pour in ceaselessly at the launch of “The Lessons Of My Life And Nigeria Public Service”, the first book ever to be published by any retired Local Government Officer in Ogun State.

The book written by Mr. Oluwole Oladipo, a retired Director of Information, Education and Sports, Remo North LG, Isara, was launched by the Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hakeem Balogun at the Iwe Irohin, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, yesterday.

Speaking while launching the book, Rt. Hon. Balogun commended the author, Oluwole, for his good initiative and creative ideas.

Rt. Hon. Balogun, who is equally a retired LG Officer, recalled the feats performed by Mr. Oluwole Oladipo in 1987, October 2, at the old Ijebu East Local Government, Ogbẹrẹ, by being the first LG Information Officer in Nigeria to publish a grassroot news magazine, known as “The Waterland Voice”, and the first Information Officer in Ogun State to have embarked on Mobile Movie Picture in 1988.

Coming up with the publication of the book, according to Rt. Hon. Balogun, made the author to have performed another feat no other retired LG Officer in the State has done.

He, therefore, advised the people, especially, the generality of LG staff to buy the book in order to encourage the author and others who would be coming after him.

Former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Senator Adegbenga Kaka commended the author for his efforts and therefore implored the general public, both the junior and senior local government officers, not only to buy the book, but to read it thoroughly in other to gain from the wealth of experience of the retired officer.

Earlier, Barrister Olawale Ajia, while reviewing the book, commended Oluwole for his act of perseverance, doggedness and principled mind throughout his ordeals, travails and persecutions. And more importantly, according to the reviewer, for publicly forgiving and equally prayed, in the book, that God should forgive all those who have wronged him, one way or the other.

In his remark, the author, Mr. Oladipo thanked all those present for their love and support.
