In its National emergency meeting held on Tuesday 18th May. 2021 by its apex body, Board of Trustees, StandUp for Women Society, (SWS) has advised the Nigerian Head of Government, President Muhammad Buhari to find a lasting solution to the problems of insecurity, banditry, gun running, destructions of farmlands and rape in the country.
The National President of the most populated upcoming women gender advocacy SWS, Barr. Deborah Abosede Ijadele-Adetona said the Nigerian women and concerned Nigerian citizens are highly disturbed with the increase in the number of widows, fatherless and motherless children across the nation, particularly in the North Central, North East, South West and South South areas of the country.

National Publicity Secretary lamented that insecurity has also spread to the Relief Centres and individuals homes.
Worst of it all was that Farmers could no longer go to their farmlands , road transport is fastly becoming a mirage, most small business owners could no longer operate due to the state of insecurity in the nation and the roads were becoming not motorable.
The future effects of all these would invite famine in the families, poverty level would continue to rise, social vices and crime rate would increase especially among youths which would definitely plunge our dear Nation in chaos and calamity.
He said it was on this note that,
Standup for Women Society ( SWS) was vehemently condemning all these acts of man inhumanity to man and insecurity in our nation and therefore implored the Federal Government to do the following:
- To make more recruitment into the Army, Airforce, Navy, Police, Civil Defence and DSS.
- To permit all state governments to have their own internal security, if possible established the state police.
3 Federal government should enact law enforcement agencies and judicial Tribunal at the federal and states levels to give capital punishment to anyone caught in the act of kidnapping, banditry and raping. Moreover, the traditional rulers should be incorporated into the, national, states and local governments Security Councils, since these traditional rulers are more acquainted to understand the root causes as they are closer to their communities and people.
They warned that if critical action was not taken on all major aspects of inhuman within the next two months, commencing from the month of June, SWS would lead Nigeria women in a peaceful National protests .
