Chairman Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has called on political parties participating in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the State to come for the collection of Personal Data Forms for Candidates.

Speaking during an internal appraisal of preparation at the OGSIEC office in Oke-ilewo, Abeokuta, Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, disclosed that collection of the Personal Data Forms also known as Forms CF 001 and CF 002 has commenced and was expected to end on Friday, May 28, 2021.

He said though the information has been in the public, there was the need to further remind political parties and guide them along every step to follow.

“We don’t want to give room for misinformation, hence, our continuous media engagements and collaborations. Though the political parties are well informed about this, I however consider it imperative to reiterate that we have commenced the distribution of Personal Data Forms for Candidates by political parties from Wednesday, 12th May which is expected to end on Friday, 28th May, 2021.

”I urge the political parties to be on the same page with us, we are also being proactive and ensuring that things are done by the prescription of the law. We will continue to echo this in the ears of the political parties”, Osibodu said.

He said submission of the Personal Data Forms for Candidates would be from Thursday, May 13 to June 1, 2021, emphasising that the need to keep intimating political parties with the guidelines and timetable could not be overemphasized.
