A 2-week Mathematics competition and teacher training program being packaged by the Education & ICT Directorate of
Remo Growth and Development Foundation will begin today, March 29, 2021.
The training, according to Princess Yemisi Oluwole, the Chief Operating Officer of Remo Growth and Development Foundation is conceptualised to improve the education landscape in Remoland
The International Mathematics program known as Kangaroo San Frontieres (KSF) Competition for Students is expected to have a total of 115 teachers at the training from Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays during the 2-week period
Our team gathered that 65 students took part in the 1st tranche. The
2nd tranche took place last Saturday March 27 where 54 students took part, drawing 2 students (a boy and a girl) in JSS1, and 2 students (a boy and a girl) in SSS1 from other Remo schools that did not participate in the 1st tranche.
This, we are informed ensures all schools are covered. “Any school that does not participate will not have its teachers trained as the performance in the competition will be used as baseline data to benchmark the performance of the teachers after the training”, the organisers disclosed.
The Mathematics competition and Teacher Training which draws participants across Remo schools will hold at Mayflower School, Ikenne with what is described as soft opening commencing by 9.00 AM.
