Decontamination and fumigation of palaces and public places by Honourable Adebiyi Adeleye (ATOBA) Is a project aimed at improving the health of the people of Remo.
This was disclosed by Dr. Cyril Babasope, the Project Coordinator of Honourable Adebiyi Adeleye Environment Initiative in an exclusive interview with our team.
Dr. Babasope said that Adeleye believed that the first thing and ways to achieving anything in life was good health, saying that anyone that was unhealthy would be poor because a sick person wouldn’t be able to work, or contribute reasonably to the growth of his immediate family let alone the society.
He said they have chosen palaces and public places, such as markets, police stations because they understood these are usually points of convergence by many people and so, if anyone should carry any infectious diseases to such places many people would likely be infected.
Dr. Babasope described Honourable Adebiyi Adeleye who was once Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Remo North Local Government and one time member of Ogun State House of Assembly, as one person who cared about the wellbeing of his people and always loved to give back to the society, adding that the decontamination and fumigation project billed to hold this March has been conceptualised to to ensure the people would not use their meager earning on treatment of diseases but use to improve their standard of living.
The Project Coordinator who is a PhD holder in Environmental Studies disclosed that the initiative, sponsored by friends of Adeleye was not planned as a political calculation but to address areas that has for long been neglected by the people. ” You know when someone is not healthy such a person cannot be able to the market. When a child is not healthy such a child will not be able to go to school. We believe Health is wealth”, Babasope stressed
