The Chairman, Transaction Committee, Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Banjo has celebrated Comrade Akeem Ambali on his victory as the National President, National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).
While congratulating the new NULGE President at a civic reception in his honour, at the Local Government Secretariat, Sagamu Hon. Gbenga Banjo described Comrade Ambali as a true indigene of Ogun that are spiritually endowed with leadership skills, integrity and hard work, which informed his emergence as the first NULGE National president from South West.
He charged Ambali to see his victory as a call to service and make welfare of staff his core value to justify the confidence reposed in him by the entire NULGE and its workforce.
In his welcome address, Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mr Wale Bamiro, congratulated the newly elected NULGE President and encouraged him to ensure cooperation amongst members of the Union, while appreciating Sagamu Local Government staff for their unflinching supports.
In his Goodwill message, NULGE Chairman, Ogun State Chapter, Com. Olatunji Ayuba appreciated God for the victory and implored members of the Union to support the new president to attain a greater heights as a tree cannot make a forest.
Responding, Com. Ambali who attributed his victory at the poll as an act of God, commended the State Government for its support and cooperation with the workforce, pledging welfare of members, autonomy of local governments, restructuring of the Union as well as Local Government Service Commission.
He solicited the support of members to achieve the set objectives, advising them to upgrade themselves by going for applicable courses in their field of studies.
Comrade Akeem Ambali, a Director with Ogun State Local Government Service was a two-term former Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees (NILGE) and immidiate past Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Ogun State and a one time National Treasurer of NULGE.
