LALONG CHALLENGES BOARD APPOINTEES

By Sunday James

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has challenged the newly appointed Chairmen and members of Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Governing Councils of Tertiary Institutions in the state to bring to bear their wealth of experience in giving direction and focus to the Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Governing Councils with a view to ensuring that the vision of the government was achieved.

Lalong said their appointment was coming at a time when the State was dealing with COVID-19 and its economic consequences which had necessitated the harnessing of the human and natural potentials of the State to mitigate the situation and deliver the dividends of democracy to the citizens.

Lalong on Friday, February 12, 2021 approved the appointment of Chairmen and Members of Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Governing Councils of Tertiary institutions in the state.

According to a statement by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Director of Press & Public Affairs to the Governor, Lalong said the members have been appointed based on their experience, track record of achievements and loyalty to the State and the APC Rescue Administration.

While wishing them success in their new assignments, the Governor advised them to be guided by the extant laws and provisions guiding their appointments and avoid any act that would stifle the activities of the agencies under their supervision.

The release stated that details of the appointments would be released by the Secretary to Government of the State Danladi Abok Atu.
