FUNAAB BEGINS FRESH YAM SALE FROM OCTOBER 26

Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) would commence the sale of fresh yams on Monday, October 26, 2020.
According to the Director, Community-Based Farming Scheme (COBFAS) of FUNAAB, Prof. Sunday Adigbo, interested members of the University community and general public should seize the opportunity to make purchase. The Director stated further that venue of the sale is the bus-stop shed opposite the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR), beginning at 10 am daily, till the yams are completely harvested.
The yam tubers, which are to be harvested from the 1.2 hectare-COBFAS yam plantation, would be sold at affordable price to buyers, as the gesture is meant to cushion the effects of the looming Post-Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) hunger that may arise.
The University, through COBFAS, pro-actively engaged in large-scale crop production with the yams being part of the crop planted under the scheme, Prof. Adigbo stated.
