As part of efforts to tackle housing deficits in the State, Ogun State Government has said, it is determined to construct more affordable housing units in the rural areas to improve dweller’s standard of living.
The General Manager, Ogun State Housing Corporation, Estate Surveyor and Valuer, Wale Ojo stated this while featuring on a radio programme in Abeokuta, pointing out that government would continue to construct more houses with necessary social infrastructure.
Ojo noted that base on the request for more housing, efforts would be made to provide massive units in the three Senatorial Districts, noting that the middle and low income earners both in formal and informal sectors would be major beneficiaries.
“Affordable housing scheme under Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration would be built according to the need of the people. Capitalists will not be allowed to buy houses under the scheme at the expense of the low and middle income earners”, the GM noted.
While reacting to the complaints of some residents in government estates, particularly Oke-Ata, on the deplorable state of roads within the estate, he assured that the Corporation would look into it.
