By Oyinade Olufemilade

The Aromokola Ruling House of Abalabi town has kicked against the installation of one Taofik Biobaku Bakare as the Oba of Abalabi Town, because according to the he was not in anyway related to them in the family

The Aromokala Royal Family registered their displeasure over the singular act of conspiracy and nepotism by the ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to deprive them of their throne.

They presented a unanimous candidate for the vacant stool of Abalabi town in Ewekoro Local Government of Ogun state in the South Western part of Nigeria.

A letter signed by one Pa Timothy Oyeyemi Badejoko, for the Aromokala Ruling Family and made available to our news desk stated that, after the meeting held on Sunday September 16, 2018 at no. 2 Adetoro Famuyiwa street, Ikotun, Lagos unanimously resolved to present Prince Babatunde Akinwunmi Badejoko as the sole candidate for the vacant throne of Abalabi Kingdom.

They said Aromokala descendant Ruling House remained the next in succession to the throne of Abalabi Kingdom, hence the family emphatically dissociated themselves from one Taofik Biobaku Bakare who they claimed was neither related to them biologically or proxy, but had been erroneously installed by the State Government despite communiques, and mails earlier sent to the Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs, and other constituted authorities in the state.

They used the opportunity to notify the government and the general public again that Taofik Biobaku Bakari Oshunrinade who has been parading himself as a member of the Aromokala descendant Family and the Oba of Abalabi Kingdom was not in any way related to them and has not been chosen as the oba of the kingdom.

Another letter presented by the Council of Elders Lawyers, Tademalaw Chambers, located at Mushin, Lagos also corroborated their claims. The letter reads, “We act for the Elders-in- Council of the Abalabi Community, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun state. We humbly refer to our earlier letter to the government in respect of the above subject matter, especially the one dated 2nd July 2018.

The family who lauded the Governor of the state, the Prince Dapo Abiodun for his dexterous leaderships were optimistic that the Governor, being of Royal blood would look into the matter and do the needful and just in the matter.

The family likewise advise the Commissioner for Local and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuwape to steer clear of any actions or steps that could bungle the smooth running of the Abiodun’s Administration, because according to them due process was not followed in his selection of the oba.
