Inspector General of Police in Nigeria, Mr. Muhammed Adamu has approved the appointment and development of new Commissioners of Police for Ekiti, Bayelsa, Cross Rivers and Ogun States. The newly appointed Police Commissioners were: Edward Awolowo Ajogun, would take charge in Ogun State. Ajogun was a former Personal Assistant, to a one – time Inspector-General of Police, Mr Tafa Balogun.

Mr. Edward Awolowo Ajogun who until his appointment was at the force headquarters at Abuja.

In the redeployment exercise saw three other Police Chiefs moving to state commands. The others appointed were, Mr Mobayo Babtunde, Police Commissioner for Ekiti state; Mr Abdulkadir Jimoh Police Commissioner, Cross River State and Mr. Okoli Michael, the new Commissioner for Bayelsa State.

The appointments takes immediate effect.
