There will not be any form of restrictions as a result of Oro festival in Ikorodu, Lagos State, in the South Western part of Nigeria as being speculated in some quarters.
According to an impeccable source in the Palace of the Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu, the residents and visitors have been advised to go about their duties and responsibilities without any fear of molestations, harassment
We gathered the monarch had met with all Chief Priests in the land and resolved that there would be no Oro Festival on Saturday, June 6, 2020.
The Ayangbure palace source hinted that Priests involved in the Oro Festival would worship and perform whatever traditional rites in their various places of worship.
“All Residents of Ikorodu (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous, Male, Female, Young and Old) can move around freely, but observe Social Distancing”, our source stressed.
The source who described the indigenes as warm, receptive and peaceful, enjoined residents and visitors not to panic over what is considered mere rumour about Oro (Isemo) Festival.
