The Igbimo Apapo Yoruba L’agbaye, the apex umbrella body of the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide(YCYW) and Yoruba Council of Women Worldwide(YCWW), alongside numerous affiliate organizations have appointed Yeye (D.H.C) Barbara Jasso Saldana Ajike Ifabolasi as Yeye Asoju Obinrin Oodua of Mexico
The Igbimo exclusively has among others the sole aim and vision of protecting the rights and privileges of all sons and daughters of Oduduwa; promote the aesthetic Yoruba cultural heritage and values and ensures the ethos of Omoluabi principles remain eternally indelible in the entire Yoruba Land, Nigeria and In Diaspora.
In line with the ethos of the Council, and after due perquisite consultations and affirmation, the Igbimo Apapo Yoruba Lagbaye hereby unanimously resolved and approved the appointment of YEYE (D.H.C) BARBARA JASSO SALDAÑA AJIKE IFABOLASI as YEYE ASOJU OBIRIN O’ODUA OF MEXICO AND AMERICA.
This is done in due recognition of her exhibited cerebral wisdom, noble integrity, landmark achievements and passion for the emancipation and development of humanity, Yoruba tradition and culture viz-a-viz peace building, promotion of inter-religious faith tolerance and Omoluabi’s principles.
By this appointment, according to a statement signed by the President General of the group, Aare Oladotun Hassan, Yeye Ajike Ifabolasi was expected to ensure full administrative integration and coordination of the entire Council’s activities in Mexico and America as well as other adjoining countries as considered by the Council viz; ensuring regulatory compliance and registration with all relevant authorities and agencies of governments, establishment, appointment and inauguration of chapters and units’ representatives.
Furthermore, she was mandated to carry out membership growth and development, organize festivals, symposiums and awards, with the sole purpose of promoting the Yoruba culture, tradition, norms and beliefs, while equally projecting peace, love and unity globally inconsonance with the constitution, standard practice and values of the Council.
Her appointment which takes effect from 11th April, 2020, has been communicated to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, Ooni of Ife who is the Grand Royal Father of the Igbimo Apapo Yoruba lagbaye.
