As the total lockdown as result of COVID-19 is being adhered to in Ogun state, the Catholic Church has joined in encouraging the citizens to follow all government institutions and preventive strategies to curtail the spread of the Corona virus.
In a special message to the people of Ogun state, the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-ode, Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina said the church expressed sympathy and solidarity with the people at this time of global health challenge caused by the Corona virus.
The Bishop commended government at all levels, especially Ogun state government under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun for positive and proactive actions towards protecting the health of the people.
Most Rev. Francis Obafemi Adesina noted that the Catholic Church of Ijebu-ode, as part of its community outreach program was reaching out to the people with relief materials to cushion the effect of the lock down as well as step up Sensitization campaign on the Virus among the citizens. .
While praying to God to halt the Pandemic and heal the sick, the cleric appreciated all medical personnel, doctors, nurses and care givers for their efforts so far.
