Otunba Adewale Osinubi popularly known as Wesco in the political circle has lauded the resignation of his mentor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel from partisan politics and from the people’s Democratic party.
The former Governor of Ogun state on Saturday shocked the whole nation and indeed the world when he announced his desire to quit partisan politics.
The political gladiator nevertheless vowed to rejuvenate his charity based organization, the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF) which according to him would continue cater for the needy.
In reaction to the decision of the former Governor, Otunba Daniel who was the Director General of Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar Campaign, Osinubi said, “I was part of the think thank that advised him to resign. He stressed, “our leader, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has given his best in politics as far as I am concerned”.
He opined that it was good to quit when the ovation is loudest. “We need fresh blood in the system, new pilots with genuine desire to win elections, without selfish interest or greed”, Osinubi stressed.
Osinubi further inserted “Otunba Daniel will still be available for consultations, advice and support to candidates who seek for his support and assistance in winning elections”, he added.
