GOV. AMOSUN SHOW OF SHAME Humiliates President of Nigeria at campaign rally

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari and the entire Presidential Team were thoroughly humiliated as political thugs loyal to the Governorship candidate of Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s sponsored political party, APM freely attacked him and the party stalwarts at the presidential rally in Ogun state.

The Presidential rally was held on February 11, 2019 at Moshood Kashimawo Abiola stadium, Kuto Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state in South Western part of the Nigerian Nation.

They threw any available things at them. As pet bottles were flying from all angles so also the unruly gang were waving the signs of APM. They also booed any members of the presidential team who said anything that was either against APM arrangements.

The campaign took a new twist when Ogun state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun came on stage to campaign for the APC and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) by boastfully expressing his disagreement with the choice of Governorship candidate of his own ruling party.

In his speech with which he literally abused the leadership of the party both at the national and state levels as well as some past governors of the state, some of who were present. He made it unequivocally known to them that he was for President alone and promised to vote for him come February 16, 2019.

Governor Amosun reeled out his achievements and made it abundantly clear that he had achieved far more than any other governor in the state and that he was going to prove to those he described as his detractors that he was more politically powerful and relevant than them during the polls.

Governor Amosun’s speech spurred the political thugs on and instead of chanting “say baba” they were brandishing APM banners and waving the small handheld flags carrying the pictures of Amosun and Buhari. They also conspicuously displayed the three fingers peculiar to APM and not the APC four by four.

At a point when the mercenaries numbering over 3,000 seemed uncontrollable and had achieved their evil machinations, all that the governor who is the Chief Security Officer of the state could do was pleading with by saying ” Please don’t discredit, don’t disgrace me our father President Muhammadu Buhari is here. Please calm down”.

Immediately after Governor Amosun, the immediate past Governor of Osun state Rauf Aregbesola took the stage and urged the the people to vote for only the candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress. He frowned at the presence of suspected decedents in the crowd.

As Aregbesola started speaking, supporters of the APM verbally opposed him and it degenerated into to a rowdy session when Adams Oshiomhole, the APC national chairman addressed the crowd. They became restive and started throwing water containers and all sorts of things at the APC leaders.

In his speech, the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo enumerated the achievements of his party in the area of security, economy, infrastructures, transportation and also assured the people that if re-elected they would do more to turn around the country for the better.

The speech of the Vice President was followed by that of President Muhammadu Buhari who spoke passionately of his resolve and desire to work assiduously to develop the Nigerian nation.

He urged the people to vote for him and his deputy to be able to continue the Transformation programmes they have started in order to move the country to the next level of development which according to him would promote investments as well as the well-being of all Nigerians.

Immediately after his speech, President Muhammadu Buhari quickly presented and raised the hand of the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Price Dapo Abiodun to the people. Prince Dabo Abiodun had earlier being presented with the party’s flag by National Chairman, Comrade Oshiomole.

President Buhari, like a father remained calm in the face of humiliation and embarrassment. He said while presenting Dapo Abiodun, “this is the candidate of APC but you can vote for whoever you like, It is your right”.

The Presidential rally of the ruling party, APC for the re-election of President Mohammadu Buhari turned to a battle ground as Allied People’s Movement, APM, supporters unleashed terror on identified APC party faithfuls at the rally.

The rally had a good number of All Progressives Congress party faithfuls from across the state and also APM supporters because of their adoption of President Muhammadu Buhari as their presidential candidate.

APM supporters did not want to see anything ‘Yellow’ which is the favourite colour of All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

From the start the hoodlums went round the sides of the stadium occupied by Dapo Abiodun’s supporters unleashed terror on them, leaving many of them injured and also chased them out of the stadium without the security operatives blinking an eyelid.

They left Dapo Abiodun supporters only at the mercy of their attackers. The victims ran for dear lives by scaling the barricade to avoid being killed by the attackers who seemed ready to stop at nothing to achieve allegedly well written planned.

They attackers who were armed with dangerous weapons and charms beat those they could lay their hands upon and threw dangerous objects such as; stones and sticks, pet bottles and stones at those they could not reach.

They pounced on anyone wearing yellow or branded attires or cap,the colour known with Abiodun and his supporters, leaving many of them with various degrees of injuries. All this happened before the arrival of the presidential team.

Governor Amosun actually gave signals of what to come when, in the early hours of the day, he personally supervised the destruction of the small and giant banners of Prince Dabo Abiodun hung inside the stadium.

Additionally, the Governor, accompanied by some of his lieutenants, went round the stadium allegedly to identify the points populated by Dapo Abiodun’s, because a few minutes after this APM “boys” descended on the area occupied by Abiodun’s supporters beating them black and blue. They chased them out.

The veracity of his already concocted plans could also be seen with the people who held sway at the shameful rally. First the opening prayers. Islamic prayer offered by the Director General of APM campaign organisation, Alhaji Sarafa Ishola and Senator Iyabo Anisulowo gave that of Christianinity. The suspended state Chairman of APC, Derin Adebiyi gave the welcome address.

In fairness to the security operatives, at the start they were up and doing by ensuring that no one without genuine invitation or access card was allowed into the stadium. Besides People were searched thoroughly before being cleared into the arena.

The security arrangements were jettisoned when Governor Amosun mounted the big podium on the pitch and announced that the security operatives should fling the gates open to allow all and sundry into the stadium.

There and then the hoodlums took over every point. First they started smoking Indian hemp and puffing away with reckless abandon. They started displaying their mission by side attacks by taking and tearing the caps of Dapo Abiodun’s supporters.

This show of shame by the state Governor confirmed the allegations of the Publicity Secretary of APC Caretaker Committee, Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye who had always raised the alarm of planned attacks. He particularly, on the eve of the presidential rally warned against possible attack.

Out of the 35, ooo capacity Moshood Kashimawo Abiola stadium, Kuto Abeokuta over 3,000 were mobilised by the disgruntled elements who are trading with the accolades of the state and bent on destroying the peace of the land.
