NIGERIA CUSTOMS, OGUN COMMAND GENERATES #1.129 BILLION IN NOV., SEIZE 67 LUXURY CARS, 6,015 BAGS OF RICE
Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun state command has generated the sum of #1. 129, 119, 923.80bn.The state Controller of NCS, Controller Micheal Agbara disclosed this at the command’s office in Idiroko, Ogun State.
Agbara, while briefing journalists disclosed that in the area of anti –smuggling, the command seized 67 luxury smuggled cars, 17 vehicles used for smuggling, bags of contrabands, 6,015 bags of foreign grains ,119 kegs of vegetable oil , footwears and frozen products with a total duty paid value of #395,118, 058.”
He also disclosed to reporters that the command was able to exceed its monthly revenue target in excess of #401.33m as a result of redoubled efforts of men and officers of the command.
The Controller added that five suspects were arrested. He described the feat as a blow to smugglers, warning smuggles who wanted to exploit the avenue of the festive period to desist from such acts as men of the command were battle ready to thwart such plans which he described as retrogressive idea of economic sabotage.
The 6,015 bags of rice seized were from January to November.
