Assemblage of natural beauty aptly situates the ongoing Queen Moremi Beautiful pageant in the capital of Ogun state in the Western part of Nigeria as a total of 22 beautiful young gals drawn from the Southwest States of Nigeria are battling for the coverted crown.
The star prize of this first of its kind Cultural pageantry in the Yoruba kingdom is a brand car and one million naira cash at the grand finale of the Queen Moremi competition being conceptualised by the wife of the Governor of Ogun state, Chief Mrs Olufunso Amosun who is the Moremi Ajasoro of Yoruba.
His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Enitan, his Olori, Naomi Enitan; His Royal Majesty, Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; His Royal Majesty, Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle; Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga, and other Yoruba traditional rulers were on ground to watch the contestants took turn to flaunt their natural endowment in terms of beauty, talents, leadership quality, courage and bravery reminiscent of the famed ancient Yoruba queen Moremi Ajasoro.
In her opening address, the Chief host, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, hailed the cultural pageant, saying it is meant to awaken the virtues of Queen Moremi in Yoruba young girls, which according to her, are “valour, courage and bravery.”
She expressed the confidence that the beauty the contestants exude on the outside, would also be found on their inside. She disclosed the star prize winner among the 22, will smile home with a brand car and one million naira cash gift.
Also, the first runner – up will go home with N750,000:00k, the second runner – up clinches N500,000:00k while other contestants will receive consolation prize of N200,000:00k each.
