As the economy of the Nigerian nation gets harder and foods and allied issues locate the front burners, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Ogun state is set to address issues pertaining to foods, essentially to proffering solutions to them.

This University, according to its convocation programmes has dedicated a day specially for an intellectual discourse and will be bringing a Guest Lecturer from University of Texas, United States of America who is expected to do justice to it by dissecting the subject.

The cerebral and renown scholar and Resource Person, Professor Toyin Falola of the Department of History who will be honoured alongside Professor Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka during the Convocation of the university will be speaking on the topic: “Food and Us, Poverty, Policies and Politics”.

The Convocation lecture slated for Wednesday. November 21, 2018 will be held at the university ceremonial building at 2:00 P. M. under the Chairmanship of Professor Anthony Ijaola Asiwaju, MFR, MNAL, FHSN, Emeritus Professor, University of Lagos.

The lecture which is first of its kind, particularly during this trying period in the life of the Nigerian nation, and as the President Buhari led Federal Government is working assiduously to bring about food sufficiency, promises to to be far reaching and thought provoking. The university therefore uses the opportunity to invite the university communities, particularly all graduating students as well as the general public.

The Convocation Lecture will be followed immediately by Chancellor’s Cocktail in honour of the Convocation Lecturer, Professor Toyin Falola.

Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) 26th Convocation ceremony will hold from Friday, November 16, 2018 to Friday, November 23, 2018.
